Avaya Group List

An Avaya group list lets users of the corporate phone system send the same voice message to multiple users for whom she knows the direct extension. Group lists are created manually, and each user can build and amend her lists to meet her unique needs. Users are not alerted when they are put on a group list.

Avaya Messages

The Avaya phone system allows users to create and send voice messages without actually calling the recipient. In order to send a message, the recipient must also have a voice-mail box on the same Avaya system, such as within the same company. When a user sends a message, the recipient is alerted and may respond via message or choose to call the sender back.

Group Lists

If a user wants to send the same message to multiple users on her Avaya system, she must first create a group list on her phone. Each user is allowed to create a maximum of 10 group lists, each of which may contain up to 50 users. In order to add a person to a group list, his extension number must be added manually or located by search in the directory.

List Modification

Group lists are not set in stone on an Avaya phone system. Each user has the option to delete or add current group list members by signing in to her voice messaging service, provided she does not exceed the maximum number of allowable group members. Once a group has 50 people, one person must be removed for every person added.

Sending Messages

Group messages can only be sent to groups from the phone on which the list was created, as lists are stored locally on the device. If a user changes extensions at her company, she must recreate the lists on the new phone. Messages are all sent at the same time -- immediately upon the sender pressing "#" to confirm the message send.
