Sony Mavica digital cameras were designed to provide digital camera users with a small camera with great features. Most of them had Carl Zeiss lenses for strong optical quality. The photos were stored on 8 centimeter mini CD-R and CD-RW discs. The battery provided with the camera was usually a rechargeable lithium ion type. Problems can arise with the camera due to defective components or wear and tear. You can solve most of these problems to keep the camera functional.
Instructions
1. Press up on the on the directional control button to access the menu screen and initialize a new disc that is not being recognized by the camera. Scroll to the "File" option using the "right" directional button and then press the center of the control button to open it. Press the "up" directional button to get to the "Disc Tool" option and open it with the center direction control button.
2. Press "Initialize" then select "OK" and place the camera on a flat surface to avoid vibration. Select "Cancel" using the "down" directional button then press the "Center" of the directional pad to cancel initialization of the disc.
3. Adjust the focus option on the left side of the camera to manual to customize the photo clarity. Rotate the focus ring on the front of the camera lens to choose what items to focus on. Press the "Macro" button on the back of the camera to get a better focus on up close items.
4. Set the mode selector to "Play" then press the "Menu" button to remove the protection from the images you want to delete. Choose the "File" option using the direction controls then select "Protect." To release all the images, choose the "ALL" option. To release certain photos choose the "Select" option then scroll to the individual photos to remove protection by pressing "Enter."
5. Turn off the camera and let it sit for one minute then turn it back on if the Sony Mavica does not work. Remove the disk then reinsert it after turning the camera on. Make sure the power cable is connected correctly to the camera and the battery is being charged.
