The majority of modern cell phones, particularly smart phones, accept microSD cards to expand storage. MicroSD cards can be swapped out to provide different photographs, address books and multimedia content. Depending on the phone's capabilities, different classes of SD cards that vary in write speed and storage capacity can be used. Make sure that before you purchase a microSD card that your phone supports the class of the card.
Instructions
1. Use your phone's power button or user menu to completely turn off your phone. Although some phones support hot swapping of SD cards, most do not.
2. Open the microSD card slot on your phone. For many devices, this is located next to the battery. On others, the microSD card is inserted into a side bay on the phone.
3. Remove any existing card by gently pressing on the card, then letting the spring pop the card back out.
4. Insert your microSD card in the same direction as the previous card. Do not force the microSD card into the phone. Turn it over and try again; it should not be difficult to insert the card.
5. Power on your phone using the device's hardware buttons. The phone automatically detects and mounts the microSD card. If the microSD card is new, your phone may ask to format the card. Choose "Yes" to completely erase the card and format it for use on your phone.
