The Roland BR-900CD is an advanced 8-track recording studio device. The BR-900CD operates as an all-in-one recording unit with built-in CD burning capabilities, as well as the ability to record to CompactFlash memory cards. The studio also has a number of professional effects, a drum-pattern generator and an audio mastering tool kit. The unit runs either through AC adapter power or battery power for more portability. The basic instructions for the Roland BR-900CD are fairly straightforward.
Instructions
1. Plug the AC adapter cable into the "AC IN" port in the back of the Roland BR-900CD, then plug the other end of the cable into an available power outlet.
2. Plug the four-pin stereo cable into the "Input" port in the back of the BR-900CD, then plug the other end of the cable into the "Output" (or equivalent) port in the back of the audio source device (like a rhythm machine).
3. Flip open the "Memory Card" port door on the side of the BR-900CD, then insert the CompactFlash memory card, aligning the metal contacts on the memory card with the metal contact on the inside of the memory card port. Gently push the card in until it clicks into place, then close the memory card port door.
4. Flip the "Power" switch on the back of the BR-900CD to turn it on.
5. Move the "Master" fader up and down to increase or decrease (respectively) the recording volume. Move the 8-track faders up and down to increase or decrease (respectively) the recording volumes of each individual track.
6. Press the "Rec Mode" to place the BR-900CD into recording mode, then press the "Rec" button. This will place the unit in standby. Press the "Play" button to begin a recording session. Press the "Stop" button to end the recording session.
