Diy Ring Flash Bracket

A ring flash is a circular camera flash that fits around the lens of the camera. This is commonly used in close-up photography, such as fashion photography, as it reduces shadows on the subject and highlights the subject's features. There are many do-it-yourself ring flash kits that come with all of the parts necessary to set up a ring flash for your camera. This includes the bracket the flash sits in.

Instructions

1. Purchase a ring flash kit that is designed for the dimensions of your particular lens. You can find this information on the lens as well as on the packaging of the ring flash.

2. Remove the contents of the do-it-yourself kit from the box. You should have the foldable flash portion, the foldable bracket housing, an insulator strip and adhesive pads as well as tape strips.

3. Fold the edges of the silver flash portion up at the creases. Continue all the way around the sides of the flash.

4. Fold the two halves of the flash portion together and use the strips of tape to secure the two halves together.

5. Fold the ends on the bracket piece up the same way you did the flash piece.

6. Fold the two halves of the bracket piece together and secure the sides with tape.

7. Slide the flash piece into the bracket piece. The flash "ring" will now be formed in the bracket housing.

8. Bend the insulator strip into a circle so that the ends are touching and secure the ends with tape.

9. Fit the insulator in the center of the flash circle.

10. Place the adhesive pads evenly around the rear of the bracket and attach the bracket to the sides of your lens using these pads. The unit will now be ready.
