Never let focus on the S5100M ruin your photo opportunities.
It is no doubt that sharp pictures are more appealing than blurry ones. Sometimes owners of consumer digital cameras, like the Fuji Finepix S5100M, will need some coaching in the art of focusing to improve their photographs. Luckily the S5100M has a simple interface that makes focusing easy.
Instructions
1. Set the Finepix S5100M to one of its three focusing modes: S-AF, C-AF or MF. "S-AF" stands for "single auto-focus," "C--AF" stands for "continuous auto--focus" and "MF" stands for "manual focus."
2. Set the camera's focus to the default S-AF focusing by turning the camera dial to "P," "S," "A" or "M" mode. Use this mode when photographing a subject that will not move a lot. Focus on the subject by pressing the shutter button down halfway. Once the subject is focused on the LCD screen, you will be ready to press the shutter all the way down to take the picture.
3. Activate C-AF mode by taking the focus mode switch, located on the top of the camera, out of the "lock" position. Press the focus mode selector button, located inside the focus mode switch, and select C-AF mode in the presented menu. Use this mode to capture a moving subject, as it allows the camera to continually focus on the subject as pictures are taken.
4. Switch to manual mode to take full control over the focus. Unlock the focus selector switch and select the MF option. Focus on your subject by pressing the zoom buttons on the back of the camera, labeled with a "W" and a "T." Use the LCD screen to judge when the subject is in focus.
